About

One focused tool, for one specific moment.

mydocs.school is built by Muon Works Ltd — a small UK software company that makes deliberately narrow tools for the education sector.

Why this product exists

Every summer, students leave school. Their Microsoft 365 account is deactivated a few weeks later. The OneDrive that held five or seven years of essays, the class OneNote notebooks where their teachers annotated their homework, the personal notes where they sat exam revision — all of it vanishes inside a retention window most students didn't know existed.

Until 31 October 2024, there was a free, generic answer: Mover.io. Microsoft acquired it in 2019 and switched off the student-friendly side five years later. The replacements either need an IT admin or only push data into Microsoft 365, not out.

mydocs.school is the specific replacement for that workflow. A student signs in with their own school account, sees their own work, and downloads a zip. No admin involvement, no IT ticket, no destination tenant.

Who runs it

Muon Works Ltd is a UK-registered private limited company based in the south of England. The product is built and operated by a small team. The day-to-day decisions — what to build, what to refuse to build, how to price it — are made by people who have spent time inside schools and inside the Microsoft 365 admin centre, and who know what a leaver workflow actually looks like in the last week of July.

We are deliberately not trying to be ShareGate, BitTitan, or CloudM. Those companies make excellent enterprise migration platforms. We make one self-service tool for one specific user — the student who's about to leave.

How we make decisions

  • Narrow product, narrow promise. We won't add features that drift from the core export workflow. If you need a full Microsoft 365 backup, an MSP-focused platform, or a tenant-to-tenant migration tool, we'll point you somewhere better.
  • Honest about limitations. We don't hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001. We'll tell you that on the security page rather than burying it. If your procurement process needs those certifications, we're probably not the right fit yet.
  • No data-driven business model. We don't sell telemetry, train AI on student work, or run advertising. The only thing we sell is the seat subscription.
  • Small, named contacts. Email [email protected] and a real person replies. Usually inside a working day.

Where we are

  • Muon Works Ltd, registered in England and Wales.
  • ICO-registered as a data controller for our own business operations.
  • Production runs on DigitalOcean's London region. Data doesn't leave the UK during processing.
  • More on the security page.
